Purpose

Elk Ridge City protects the privacy of residents, visitors, and employees. This policy explains how the City collects, uses, and safeguards personal information in compliance with Utah law, including the Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA), the Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA), the Utah Genetic Data Privacy Act (GDPA), and the Utah Data Breach Notification Act.

 

What We Collect

The City may collect information such as names, contact details, utility account data, permit applications, payment information, and other records required to deliver municipal services.

 

How We Use Information

Data are used only for legitimate City purposes—service delivery, billing, communications, and legal compliance. Information is shared only when authorized by law or with contracted vendors who are bound by confidentiality and security obligations.

 

Your Rights

Residents may request access to or correction of City records through GRAMA. Certain records must be retained for statutory periods before deletion. Requests may be submitted to the City Recorder.

 

Security

Elk Ridge City safeguards personal information through administrative, technical, and physical controls, including limited access, encryption, and staff training. In case of a data breach, required notifications will be issued consistent with Utah law.
